Our Take On The ‘Virat’ Controversies Initiated By The So-Called Intelligent Media Houses

May it be for his aggression on the field or for his bold statements of the field, the media houses in India are so obsessed with India’s star batsman – Virat Kohli that they never fail to push him in a controversial zone with their talent of misleading their viewers and capability to create a news out of nowhere.

Since, there has been a visible change in Virat’s way of presenting himself on the field as well as off the field in recent few years as he has the responsibility of securing the pride of being an Indian Captain and he has hardly given any chance to criticize him, our so-called intelligent media decided to take a dig at him for a comment he made on a troll (which they are addressing as an ardent cricket fan) on his recently launched app.

“Over-rated batsman. Personally, I see nothing special in his batting. I enjoy watching English and Australian batsmen more than these Indians.” is what one of the comment on his Instagram read. If we try to break this statement, it is clearly visible that someone who is addressing Virat as an ‘over-rated batsman’ is definitely his hater and trolling him with an aim to demotivate him.

For those who know Virat Kohli well surely know that Virat wouldn’t have reacted to this comment so harshly because he believes in answering the critics with his miraculous MRF willow, which has already proved its mettle in the World Cricket but what triggered him is the words – “these Indians” which are totally unacceptable, especially coming from a person residing in India.

Even Virat Kohli wouldn’t mind that person being a fan of English and Australian batsmen because he himself shares a good bond with many International cricketers and hardly misses any chance to praise them whenever they deserve it. Also, Virat is a kind of person who will never think twice before shutting the mouth of someone who is disrespecting our country in someway or the other.

“Okay, I don’t think you should live in India then… you should go and live somewhere else no. Why are you living in our country and loving other countries? I don’t mind you not liking me but I don’t think you should live in our country and like other things. Get your priorities right.” This is what Virat said replying to that comment, which had more of a humorous and fun touch to it with a sole aim in his mind to make the chat session look a bit entertaining because no celebrity wants his/her fans to get bored while interacting with them! Isn’t it?

But credits to the trolls on social media, whose only aim is to achieve retweets and likes on their posts because this is what helps them strengthen their profiles so that they can earn few handful of money in future by becoming an “influencer” in return of disrespecting someone who is considered to be a great ambassador for the game of Cricket and done so much for the country in his career full of inspiration – Sad but true!

The major source of inspiration for the tcrolls to keep doing what they are doing is the hope of getting featured in the leading media articles and this is where our media houses gets into the act, which have a great habit of coming to the conclusion without any investigation. Within a span of 24 hours, almost every single media portal had this news trending on their websites and channels. We are very well aware of media’s obsession with Virat Kohli, but the outburst they created on him reacting to a mean social media comment and that too on his personal app was not needed at all. Especially, when there are so many major problems to showcase but everyone craves for attention these days and have forgotten the basic elements for which they were formed on the basis of.

Though these little things won’t affect Virat and he will continue to make India proud, but it is of utmost importance for media houses to know the difference between humor and seriousness because if someone is trolling a celebrity then even a celebrity has an equal right to troll him because everyone equally deserves the freedom of choice in our country.
