SRH vs RCB – Preview and Probable Playing XI

Royal Challengers Bangalore hasn’t started IPL 2019 the way they would have wanted ideally. After being beaten comprehensively in the opening match of the season against CSK, RCB narrowly lost their second match against Mumbai Indias.

AB de Villiers’ valiant effort went in vain as RCB suffered back to back losses. However, they will have a chance to redeem themselves against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Some changes are expected to the RCB playing XI after the loss against Mumbai Indians.

Openers – Parthiv Patel, Moeen Ali

Parthiv Patel has got a couple of 20 plus scores in the tournament. RCB will want Parthiv to convert these starts into big ones.

Moeen Ali looked good against MI before getting out. RCB has used him in the top order and might continue doing so for some time, at least until Stoinis is available.

Middle Order – Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Shimron Hetmyer

Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers batted beautifully in the game against Mumbai Indians. However, it will be interesting to see how they play Rashid Khan. Shimron Hetmyer has had a forgetful start to his IPL career so far but he might be given a few more chances in the side.

All-rounders – Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar

Shivam Dube hasn’t got much opportunity to bat but he did show a glimpse of his batting talent when he hit Malinga for a six. RCB will be hoping for many such big hits from Dube. Washington Sundar might be included in the playing XI considering the fact that he has a good record of bowling in the powerplays and RCB might unleash him against the left-handed David Warner.

Bowlers – Tim Southee, Umesh Yadav, Mohd Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal

Colin de Grandhomme has struggled with both the bat and ball in the IPL so far and is likely to make way for Tim Southee. Southee’s inclusion will provide Virat Kohli with a reliable option at the death, an area RCB struggled in the match against MI. Umesh Yadav and Siraj are likely to keep their places in the side. RCB’s strike bowler, Yuzvendra Chahal, will have his task cut out against the likes of David Warner and Kane Williamson.

Predicted playing XI

Parthiv Patel, Moeen Ali, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Shimron Hetmyer, Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Tim Southee, Umesh Yadav, Siraj, and Yuzvendra Chahal.
